IBM states that “An AI model is a program that has been trained on a set of data to recognize certain patterns or make certain decisions without further human intervention. Artificial intelligence models apply different algorithms to relevant data inputs to achieve the tasks, or output, they’ve been programmed for”.
Think of an AI model as a highly trained technician suited for a particular job, take an electrician for example. When it comes to servicing a home for electrical issues, an electrician has been trained to recognize certain patterns and solve them. However, if an issue arrises with plumbing, an electrician will struggle to solve plumbing problems because they were not trained in recognizing and fixing patterns related to plumbing. The real magic happens when technicians begin to work together to solve complex problems neither could solve alone. Entire neighborhoods and cities have been built with people who are trained to solve certain problems and recognize certain pattterns.
